This year, I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer with the Vintage Aircraft Association at Oshkosh, serving as an Air Marshal. My role focused on managing ramp safety and coordinating aircraft movement — no small task at what becomes the busiest airport in the world during that week. It was both challenging and deeply rewarding.
In between volunteer shifts, I explored the grounds and visited exhibits from Pilatus, Cessna, Boeing, Samaritan’s Purse (and their impressive DC-8), and many others. Each offered a unique perspective on aviation, from humanitarian missions to cutting-edge aerospace advancements.
The airshow itself was a nonstop thrill: F-22, F-35, A-10, and F/A-18 demos, stunning WWII warbirds, jaw-dropping aerobatic performances, and even night shows lit up the skies.

One of the most memorable parts of the week was connecting with fellow volunteers, pilots, and aviation enthusiasts from all over the world.
The conversations, shared passion, and sense of community are what truly make Oshkosh a can't-miss experience.
